دانشگاه جرج واشنگتن، در نزدیکی کاخ سفید (چهار بلوکی آن) قرار گرفته‌است. این دانشگاه به وصیت جورج واشنگتن نخستین رئیس جمهور ایالات متحده آمریکا و مصوبه کنگره در ۹ فوریه ۱۸۲۱ ایجاد شده است. ابتدا دانشگاه کلمبیا در منطقه کلمبیا و سپس در سال ۱۹۰۴دانشگاه جرج واشنگتن نامیده شد.این دانشگاه خصوصی، بیش از ۲۶۰۰۰ دانشجو دارد.در دانشگاه جرج واشنگتن واحدی تحت عنوان "Artificiall Intelligence & Robotics" وجود دارد که در سه حوزه تجزیه و تحلیل داده‌ها، یادگیری ماشین و پردازش زبان طبیعی فعالیت دارد.هر دانشجو در این دانشگاه باید سالانه حدود 53 هزار دلار هزینه کند. این رقم شامل شهریه، هزینه کتاب، غذا، مسکن و دیگر مخارج ضروری می‌شود. البته «جورج واشنگتن» یکی از بهترین دانشگاه‌های دنیا از نظر میزان ارائه کمک‌‌های تحصیلی بوده و دانشجویان هر ساله 22500 دلار کمک‌هزینه دریافت می‌کنند.
