معرفی دانشگاه آیووا
دانشگاه آیووا (University of Iowa) یکی از دانشگاه‌های ایالات متحده آمریکا بوده که در شهر آیووا سیتی در ایالت آیووا واقع شده است. در رتبه بندی سالانه جرم و جنایت ایالت ها (CQ Press)، این ایالت در فهرست امن ترین ایالت آمریکا برای زندگی در مقام دهم قرار دارد. دانشجویان می توانند مرخصی گرفته و بسیاری از مناظر روستایی ایالت آیووا را کشف کنند.این دانشگاه شامل ۱۱ دانشکده‌است. دانشگاه آیووا در رده دانشگاه‌های با فعالیت تحقیقاتی فراوان در گروه بندی دانشگاه‌های تحصیلات تکمیلی کارنگی شناخته می‌شود و عضو انجمن دانشگاه‌های آمریکایی٬ آیوی لیگ عمومی و ده کنفرانس بزرگ می‌باشد. این دانشگاه در ۲۵ فوریه سال ۱۸۴۷ با نام دانشگاه ایالت آیووا تاسیس شد.برخلاف کالج ها و دانشگاه های دیگر دانشجویان می توانند انتخاب کنند که داخل یا خارج از محوطه دانشگاهی زندگی کنند. دانشجوی سال اول لازم نیست در محوطه دانشگاهی زندگی کند. ورزش بخش مهمی از زندگی دانشجویی است. دانشگاه آیووا با داشتن تعداد بیش از ۲۰۰۰۰ دانشجوی ثبت نامی، کوچکترین جمعیت دانشجویی را نسبت به هر مدرسه دیگری که در بخش NCAA Division I Big Ten Conference با آن رقابت می کند دارد..این دانشگاه شامل بیمارستان و درمانگاههای دانشگاه آیووا است که در سطح ملی به عنوان یکی از بهترین بیمارستانهای امریکا شناخته می‌شود. در واقع، بر اساس رده بندی‌های ایالات متحده سه دپارتمان این دانشگاه در رده یکی از ده دپارتمان برتر در سراسر ایالات متحده قرار می‌گیرد که شامل گوش و حلق و بینی (چهارم) چشم پزشکی و علوم تجسمی (ششم) استخوان، مفاصل و توانبخشی (نهم) می‌شود. دانشگاه آیووا جزو اولین دانشگاه‌های آمریکا است که به زنان مدرک حقوق می‌داد.
