معرفی دانشگاه وورتسبورگ
دانشگاه یولیوس ماکسیمیلیانس وورتسبورگ (Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg) یا به عبارت ساده تر دانشگاه وورتسبورگ یکی از قدیمی ترین دانشگاههای کشور آلمان است. این دانشگاه که در سال 1402 میلادی تاسیس شد، به نام بنیان گذار یولیوس اشتر، حاکم منطقه و ماکسیمیلیان، شاه باواریا که بعد از تسلط حکومت باواریا به این شهر، با کمک مالی به دانشگاه ادامه داد. هم اکنون حدود 26،725 دانشجو در مقطع کارشناسی، کارشناسی ارشد و دکترا در این دانشگاه مشغول تحصیل هستند. این دانشگاه به گذشته موفق خود افتخار میکند. محققان و دانشمندان مشهور مانند رودلف ویرچو، کارل سیبولد و فرانتس برنتانو در دانشگاه وورتسبورگ تدریس میکردند. چهارده نفر از برندگان جایزه نوبل در این دانشگاه پژوهش میکردند. مانند رونتگن، کسی که پرتوهای ایکس را در وورتسبورگ کشف کرد، و کاشف اثر کوانتوم- هال، Klaus von Klitzing، می باشند.رونتگن، کاشف پرتو ایکس، در دانشکده فیزیک این دانشگاه به تدریس مشغول شد و در آزمایشگاه این دانشگاه موفق به کشف آن شد. شیمیدان بزرگی نظیر آرنیوس، فیشر، بوخنر و نرنست نیز از همین دانشگاه برخاسته اند.
شهر وورتسبورگ (Wurzburg) در قلب منطقه فرانکونیان قرار گرفته است و یکی از آرام ترین شهرهای آلمان به شمار می رود. این شهر که بیشتر بعنوان یک شهر جوان و دانشجویی شناخته شده است دارای تاریخ غنی و شاهکارهای هنری و معماری است. فرهنگ منحصر به فرد شهر وورتسبورگ این شهر کوچک و آرام را به یک مقصد گردشگری درآلمان تبدیل کرده است. در طول سال رویدادها و فستیوال های مختلفی در این شهر برگزار می شود که این شهر را برای جوانترها جذاب تر می سازد. وورتسبورگ شهری واقع در شمال غربی ایالت بایرن آلمان است. این شهر واقع در فاصله 280 کیلومتری مونیخ واقع شده است و شهر فاقد فرودگاه بوده اما به خطوط ملی راه آهن آلمان متصل است. جمعیت شهر بالغ بر 124، 577 نفر می باشد . در طول جنگ جهانی دوم 90٪ شهر از بین رفت و 5،000 نفر از ساکنین آن کشته شدند. بازسازی شهر و آثار تاریخی آن بلافاصله پس از پایان جنگ جهانی دوم آغاز شد که نزدیک به 20 سال طول کشید. وجود آثار قدیمی که عموماً کلیسا هستند این شهر را از نظر معماری حائز اهمیت کردهاست. یکی از نکات جالب توجه در معماری وورتسبورگ وجود آثاری از سبکهای مختلف معماری در کنار یکدیگر است.
